Someone told me it's all happenin'

This week, Dirk learned to say a new word: "Giraffe."
So, Mummy bought him a toy giraffe.
Dirk loved it so much that today Mummy and Daddy took him to the zoo.

Here he is in the ticket queue, regarding the other children with unconcealed suspicion.

At this moment in Dirk's life, giraffes were four inches high and lions were a Flash animation. Boy, was he in for a surprise...

Penguins. No stammering.
What's Dirk seen...? A giraffe?
No! It's his new favourite. (And his latest word!!!)
RHINO !

Dirk's picnic.

After lunch, Dirk saw elephants, cheetahs, bears, lions, chimps, wallabies, flamingoes and camels.

Here he's actually pointing at some strange little creatures hiding behind the bench. He gave chase, but they escaped his clutches!

Dirk enjoyed his trip to the zoo very much. Jasper slept.

Two Aunties and a Salad

Today, Dirk went for a walk in Stockgrove Park.
He showed Kate the ducks...
.
...and she showed him her wrestling moves!
.
"Come on Dirk, it's just a little one..."
"No more worms Auntie Sarah, please!"

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Toddler
.
Sarah demonstates Dirk's Yo-Yo function:
.
"AND YOU LITTLE DOG TOO!!!"
.
For lunch Dirk had a giant drink of water and lots of lovely salad and melon.
.
No more embarrassing baldness with Menu-Wig.

Thirty - Something

Dirk accompanied his little brother Jasper to the Doctor's surgery today. While Jasper had his injections, Dirk had a sneaky go on the weighing scales. He is now 13.6 kg and weighs 29 lbs 15 oz.

(Clue: It's not a hyphen!)

Early Christmas in Leighton Buzzard

This afternoon, Dirk, along with his brothers, Mummy and Daddy went to Leighton Buzzard for an early Christmas. He was a little bit shy at first, but soon started to enjoy himself. He got lots of lovely presents and had a lovely Christmas dinner.
